AMATEUR HOUR
Amateur golfer Nick Dunlap competed in and won the PGA Tour’s American Express tournament on January 21st. Dunlap is the first amateur to win a PGA Tour event since Phil Mickelson did it in 1991, and he’s the youngest amateur to win since 1910. Because of Dunlap’s amateur status, the $1.5 million 1st place prize went to 2nd place finisher Christiaan Bezuidenhout, who Dunlap beat by one stroke.
