John Ward stated that the Fire Truck has not been picked up yet but that Joe Bousquet is planning on fixing it with his dad at their expense.
Mike Potash stated that next year he will have the sign up sheet for Art splash filled before we decide to do it.
John Koskovich purchased 2 sign stands from Shopko and will have Avery Brothers do art work. The gate fee will be raised $ 1 this year but pre gate tickets will stay at $ 5 and at the door it will be $ 7. John stated that they will not advertise in the school system this year rather it was suggested to advertise in the SC Journal. John stated he will absorb the cost of the stands but they can be used for other events.
New Business:
Jay Gelfand nominated Ruth Lebowich as President-Elect. He stated that he felt she had the leadership and was willing to do it.
CDC Golf meet will be held 9/23/2019 in Omaha.
The Cosmopolitan golf meet will be July 10, 2020 at Whispering Creek. Mike Potash suggested we work on sponsors early. Curt suggested a letter but Mike felt a call or personal contact was more effective.
The 2nd Thursday of the month Cosmopolitan Meeting will not have a COD. There will not be a noon meeting any longer.
Pat Curry stated that there is a problem getting CODs. Members may need to be CODs 2-3 times as our membership is getting smaller.
Matt stated that Hospice of Siouxland will be hosting Dueling Pianos. The cost for a table is $400 Jay recommended we purchase a table and the board agreed.
Randy Kramer suggested a social on the 2nd Thursday evening. It was discussed and decided that we would use October 10, 2019 to go to Oscar Carl Vineyard. Cost is $10 and you buy your own drinks. Time 6-9 PM. Bring a Guest and potential member and they are free. Each guest you bring you get $10 off. Food was discussed but no decisions made.
John Ward suggested we consider a dinner and Murder Mystery at M's during the winter months. Cost is $ 45 / person includes meal and mystery.
Membership was briefly discussed on how to get and keep new members.
Diabetes Wellness was discussed. There are concerns that we do not get enough publicity since we do not have any flags or signage.
Grace Kavanaugh pointed out that with the exception of sharp containers we are only addressing children. She suggested a survey to see what needs adults with type-2 have.
Meeting adjourned at 6:30 Grace Kavanaugh
