Beyond the News

WEEK 1 NOISE. Since the NFL playoffs expanded to 7 teams per conference in 2020, 4.3 teams per season have lost in week 1 and still made the playoffs, while 6.2 teams have won their first game but missed the playoffs. Last season’s Super Bowl was the first between two teams who both lost their season opener, and it was the third in the last six years where the winner lost their season opener.
